EM hires Citigroup CIS head of comms Denis Denisov

Denis DenisovEM, the leading financial and corporate communications agency for emerging markets clients, is delighted to announce the appointment of Denis Denisov, formerly Head of Communications for Citigroup CIS.

 

As a Director based in Citi’s Moscow office, Denis ran the bank’s communications across the CIS and held a seat on the Operating Committee since 2009. He also represented the Citi Foundation in Russia and oversaw its multimillion-dollar portfolio of social investments region-wide in initiatives to promote financial inclusion and literacy, and support entrepreneurship and environmental protection.

Denis spent 13 years at Citi in various senior marketing and communications roles in Moscow and London. As spokesperson, he steered Citi in Russia and the CIS through many crises and challenges including the acquisition of HSBC’s retail business in 2010, and the custody operations of ABN and ING, as well as rapid expansion of the bank’s retail operations and divestitures from certain geographies and business lines. As a communications professional Denis supported the operations of all Citi’s businesses in the region including retail and commercial banking, private bank, CIB, markets, equity research and investor services.

Before joining Citi Denis worked as a PR manager at ABB Russia.
